Safety proposals for a junction on which two cyclists have been killed in recent months have been revealed by Mayor Boris Johnson.

Transport for London has launched a consultation for the Bow Roundabout with potential improvements including a new traffic light system and a reduction of lanes for motor vehicles.

Relatives of the two cyclists who were recently killed in incidents on the Bow Roundabout were at the scene for a candlelit vigil on Friday.

The event, also attended by local cyclists and politicians, saw banners demanding new safety measures for the stretch of road, part of London's cycle superhighway.
