Charlton got their first point in nine away matches after drawing 0-0 with relegation rivals Barnsley on Saturday.

In a match that few would describe as a thriller, the Tykes were booed off the pitch by their fans after being frustrated by the Addicks.

WestHam.gifJonathan Spector made a return to first team action for West Ham in Saturday's 2-10 over Stoke and the American international is eager for more.


Spector, who turns 23 next Saturday, came on as an 89th minute subsitute, his first appearance since April after being ruled out with a serious hip injury for most of this season.

Charlton dropped into the relegation zone of the Championship after a 3-1 defeat at home to Barnsley on Saturday.

The Addicks had the worse of starts when ex-Crystal Palace striker Jonathan Macken put Barnsley in front after just two minutes.

The end of a disappointing season just cannot come quickly enough for Alan Pardew’s beleaguered side.

In truth, there was little to be gleaned from this latest reverse against Barnsley last Saturday (April 26) and such a result was perhaps to be expected after the disappointment of recent weeks, all the more so when coming up against a team that still had a chance of being relegated.
