Plans for a Michael Jackson tribute show at The O2 look likely to go ahead, but nothing will be decided until after the singer's funeral.

The King of Pop was scheduled to play 50 shows at the venue over the next eight months and his untimely death last week deprived hundreds of thousands of fans the opportunity to see their hero on what was billed as his farewell tour.

Fans who bought tickets to see Michael Jackson at The O2 have the option of claiming a full refund or keep their ticket as a memento.

Concert promoters AEG Live have promised to repay in full all tickets, priced between £50 and £75, bought from authorised agents, plus any service charges.

The man who persuaded Michael Jackson to return to the stage has paid tribute to the singer.

Randy Phillips, chief executive of AEG Live, who were promoting Jackson's This Is It tour at The O2, spoke of his sadness at the shock death of the 50-year-old music icon.
