Michael Jackson, the prince of pop, scheduled to play a residency at The O2, has died.

According to US media reports, the 50-year-old died suddenly after a heart attack in LA.

He was not breathing when emergency services attended him at his home.

aa-jun18-EastIndiaPier.jpgThames Clippers new cross-river shuttle service has been hailed a success after it helped 7,000 fans get to and from The O2 last weekend.

As revealed by The Wharf last week, the boat service between the QEII pier in North Greenwich and East India pier was introduced on Saturday to give visitors an alternative way of getting to the venue when the Jubilee line was closed.

Thames Clippers will be providing additional shuttle services between London Bridge and Canary Wharf tomorrow if the 48-hour tube strike proceeds as planned at 6.59pm tonight.

Extra services will also operate between Greenland Pier and Canary Wharf during the morning peak.

Michael Jackson has added extra dates to his run at The O2 arena.

Pre-sale tickets for the King of Pop's final bow in England have already sold out, but organisers have moved quickly to post new 17 dates, and revealed more are being revealed "by the hour".

O2web.gifThe O2 is not up for sale. That's the message coming from AEG, who operate the entertainment venue, following reports over the weekend the site had been put up for sale.


Lend Lease and Quintain Estates, who own the leasehold of the site, are apparently looking to sell their interest for around £35million.

The Force will be strong at The O2 next year when a spectacular Star Wars show premieres at the venue.

Star Wars: A Musical Journey will be showcased at the arena on Friday, April 10. The show features parts of all six films, edited down to two hours, with live narration and music from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Chariot.jpgThe O2 is to be transformed into the Circus Maximus when it stages the world premiere of a spectacular show next year.


"Ben Hur Live", a recreation of the Oscar-winning blockbuster film, will be unveiled at the arena on September 15, and it includes a live chariot race.

A different perspective
