Chelsea have the best Premier League opening game record of any of the division’s current sides while West Ham beat the likes of Man City and Spurs.

West Ham's 47% opening day win rate faces Arsenal's 57% on August 8 at the Emirates and the bookies have 11/1 against the Irons boosting their percentages.

Chelsea have won 14 of their 23 first round matches, a win ratio of 61%, higher than all but one current Premier League side.

Manchester United have also won 61% of their 23 opening round games, but have also lost five of them compared to the Blues’ four.

Arsenal come next, followed by Liverpool on 52% and Swansea, Chelsea’s opponents for this season’s opening match, on 50%.

Watford have the worst opening round win ratio of the current Premier League sides having lost each of their two opening games in the division.

West Brom have won just one of their nine opening games in the league, a win ratio of 11%, the same ratio as Leicester City.
