Dimitri Payet has been one of the most effective attacking midfielders in the Premier League so far this season.

The French midfielder has been directly involved in 10 league goals for West Ham, scoring six and assisting four, an average of 0.7 a game.

Only three other players have contributed more per game than Payet.

Riyad Mahrez has been directly involved in 20 Leicester league goals this season at a rate of just under one every game.

That’s the joint highest ratio in the league alongside Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.

The German playmaker has assisted 16 goals and scored three, a total of 19. He did that in 20 games though as opposed to Mahrez’s 21.

Kevin De Bruyne has been directly involved in 14 goals for Manchester City this season – five goals and nine assists. That works out at an average of 0.8 per game.

David Silva and Dimitri Payet have both been directly involved in an average of 0.7 goals per game so far this season. Silva has scored two and assisted eight while Payet has scored six and assisted four.

Ross Barkley has been directly involved in 13 of Everton’s goals this season, scoring six and assisting seven, an average of 0.6 per game.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Christian Eriksen, Yaya Toure, Alexis Sanchez, Gerard Deulofeu and Philippe Coutinho have been involved in an average of 0.5 goals per game each.
