Officers took the Premier League player from his £3million home in Hornchurch to a Tower Hamlets police station for questioning following allegations of an attack on a 25-year-old woman.
He was later released on bail until September, according a report in the Daily Mirror.
The 25-year-old was arrested on Thursday, August 6, three days before the Irons’ win over the Gunners.
The Sun has suggested the victim of the alleged assault was a girlfriend of Sakho’s.
The Senagalese international joined West Ham last year for £3.5million and scored 10 goals in his first season at Upton Park.
A spokesman from Scotland Yard said: “Officers from Tower Hamlets have arrested a man on suspicion of domestic assault.
“The 25-year-old was arrested on Thursday, August 6, at an address in Emerson Park, Hornchurch.
“He was taken to an east London police station and has been bailed to a date in late September.”
