Leicester City midfielder Esteban Cambiasso is looking increasingly likely to be on his way to West Ham.
The Telegraph reported that the 35-year-old was a prime target to replace Hammers’ favourite Alex Song after a deal to sign the Barcelona play maker was complicated by an ankle injury.
Song had been heavily rumoured to be making his move from the Spanish giants to east London permanent this season after playing on loan for the Irons last term.
But the Cameroon international is expected to be out for up to four months.
Speculation over a deal to bring Cambiasso to Upton Park increased after the player confirmed on Tuesday, July 22, he would not be renewing his contract with the Foxes.
