Mark Noble, Andy Carroll and the the stateside squad may be without Dimitri Payet and James Collins (busy at Euro 2016) but they have new team-mates to become acquainted with – Håvard Nordtveit, Toni Martinez, Domingos Quina and Sofiane Feghouli – and the purpose of pre-season is to ensure they gel under the watchful eye of Slaven Bilic.

So when does it all begin? The game kicks off at 7.30pm local time which means 3.30am UK time on Wednesday, July 6. But that’s not a problem because it’s not on TV in the UK anyway.
