West Ham will not see Enner Valencia and Dimitri Payet in action until 2016, club specialists have confirmed.
Both players were taken off the field with ankle injuries during t he 1-1 draw with Everton on November 7, Valencia having played for just 15 minutes of his comeback.
The players had appointments with their specialists on Monday (November 16) to review their injuries.
Valencia was told he needed another an extended rehabilitation period. It is expected that he will be fully recovered by the beginning of the New Year.
Payet, a key playmaker in the east Londoners’ excellent start to the season, was advised that he does not need an operation and he will start a rehabilitation programme immediately, but is still expected to be unavailable for selection for three months.
Meanwhile, West Ham , along with Watford, are following CSKA Moscow forward Seydou Doumbia, who is on loan from Roma.
The striker was seen in the Champions League game against Manchester United and CSKA are keen to sign the Ivory Coast man permanently. However, the Hornets and Irons are monitoring developments.
West Ham are back in action on Sunday (November 22) in a London derby away to Spurs.
