West Ham have confirmed the signing of attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini.
The exciting 22-year-old will join on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.
Hammers chairman David Gold announced the news online, tweeting: “Manuel Lanzini an attacking midfielder has today signed for West Ham United.”
Argentine Lanzini will become the Hammers’ seventh signing of the summer. Known as “The Jewel”, he began his career at River Plate then moved to Al Jazira Club in the UAE via Fluminese.
Lanzini adds to West Ham’s attacking firepower, and will compete with Dimitri Payet, Morgan Amalfitano, Matt Jarvis and Mauro Zarate for advanced midfield roles.
As if that wasn’t enough Irons are looking to sign Everton sideman Kevin Mirallas and remain keen to bring in another striker.
