Wapping Ladies 1s beat the Old Loughts 2s 3-0 in their latest match.

The east London side demonstrated strength and speed in the midfield and on the forward lines at the match on Saturday, October 17.

Despite an intense work rate and consistent skills across the pitch, the score remained 0-0 at half time.

But Wapping came out strong in the second half as Holly Colvin showed relentless determination at center back, and after an excellent right slip ball from a short corner, Kate Radford seized the opportunity to cleanly strike the ball, making it 1-0.

Louise-Song blocks Old Loughts free hit

Louise Song scored the second goal and Belinda Armstrong slotted home the third goal securing the team’s fifth consecutive win and placing them four points clear at the top of East Division 1s.

The Men’s 1s were less successful with a 4-2 loss against the Bedford 1s.

The men’s side will play Dereham 1s at Dereham Hockey Club this Saturday, while the Ladies 1s will take on the Colchester 1s at Colchester Garrison
