Wedding planning will have to wait until after the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for Tom Daley.
The Team GB diver announced his engagement to Dustin Lance Black on Thursday, October 1, in the marriages section of The Times.
The happy couple have been together two and a half years and have received the blessing of Tom’s mum, Debbie.
But she told the Plymouth Herald the nuptials would only be celebrated after the sporting contest in Brazil as Tom focusses on his training at Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
She said: “The whole family is extremely excited and looking forward to the big day.
“They are going to wait until after the Games in Rio before they decide on the date of the wedding and where they want to marry.”
The sporting star trains at the London Aquatics Centre with his Zimbabwe-born coach Jane Figueiredo.
