West Ham Utd have issued their “Retained List” – showing that loan players Alex Song, Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike will return to their parent clubs and defender Joey O’Brien will leave the club.

O’Brien, 30, joined West Ham from Bolton in 2011 and helped them win promotion from the Championship in 2012. But he made just seven first-team appearances under Slaven Bilic and none in the Premier League.

The final tally of the Republic of Ireland international was 105 appearances with three goals.

Victor Moses returns to Chelsea, Alex Song to Barcelona and Emenike to Fenerbahce, each having played some part in West Ham’s successful season.

Young professionals Elliot Lee, Leo Chambers, Amos Nasha, Nathan Mavila and Jordan Brown will also depart the Boleyn Ground after not being offered new contracts.

Lee, 21, made his Premier League debut against Stoke City in August 2013 and went on to make six senior appearances, scoring in the Europa League first qualifying round win against FC Lusitans in Andorra in July 2015. Nasha, 20, also made his first-team debut in the same game.

Transfer rumours

Meanwhile, West Ham’s mission to strengthen the squad continues with interest in French free agent defender Jeremy Pied – also in the sights of Sunderland.

Also, reports suggest they are to launch a £10million bid for Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Ante Coric, 19, while Arsenal’s Jamie Vardy deal could be the spur to land Theo Walcott.
