Chelsea are the least English side in the Premier League. Just 14% of the league appearances made by Jose Mourinho’s players this season have been made by English players.

The most common nationality is Brazilian, with 20% of appearances, followed by Spanish with 17%.

In fact, English players have made just one more league appearance for Chelsea than Serbian players and are both make up 14% of the club’s overall appearances.

Stoke have only fielded marginally more English players than Chelsea this season.

Just 15% of the appearances made by Potters players this season have been by English players.

By contrast, Burnley are the most English side in the Premier League.

Over two thirds of all of the appearances made in the league for the Clarets were made by English players, 67%.

Burnley are followed by QPR, whose English players have made 50% of the club’s Premier League appearances this season.

Leicester’s English players represent 48% of the team’s overall appearances while for West Ham and Crystal Palace it’s 47%.

Almost two thirds of all Premier League appearances this season have been made by non-English players.

As many as 5,841 appearances out of a total of 8,965 (65%) were made by players either born outside of England or who represent a different national team to the Three Lions.

A total of 62 different nations are represented in the Premier League.

England is still the most represented nation with as many as 3,124 appearances being made by English players. That’s just over a third at 35%.
