Millwall fans will witness the return of defender Carlos Edwards to south east London.

The 36-year-old will resume training at The Den following a serious knee injury.

He rejoins the Lions on a short term deal which runs until January, according to the BBC website.

Edwards was released in the summer after he suffered injury woes during a match last September where he ruptured his knee ligaments.

The BBC reported Millwall gaffer Neil Harris had branded it a “long and hard recovery”.

He said: “He has attacked his rehab with ultimate professionalism and the belief that he would make a full recovery and he has shown tremendous willpower and determination.

“Carlos has achieved every goal that has been set for him up until now and I’m delighted that he has committed himself to us in the immediate short-term after proving his fitness levels.”
