Basketball team the London Lions, who have their home in the Copper Box arena, have signed up guard/forward Kai Williams ahead of the new season which starts in September.
Williams, 6ft 6ins, a Canadian international with a British passport, was last seen in the BBL with the Worcester Wolves in 2013-14 when he helped the club win the BBL Trophy and the Playoff Championship averaging nine points and four rebounds on the team.
Last season, Williams played in the Swedish Basketligan for Umea BSKT averaging 13 points and six rebounds.
Head coach of the London Lions Nigel Lloyd said: “I believe Kai has a unique skill set to go with his size at his position. He’s very athletic and shoots the ball extremely well. He is a team orientated player and will be a good addition to our squad this season.”
The coach said that the team was working hard to identify other players to bring to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
