London Docklands volleyball team stormed their first two matches of the National Volleyball League season with two wins in the first weekend.

Competing in the England Super8s the men’s side beat Wessex 3-1 in an away game at LeAF Academy in Bournemouth on Saturday, October 3.

After a late return to London following their win, Docklands had to prepare for their first home match at Sobell against Leeds on Sunday, October 4.

Following a 3-2 victory over Malory Eagles on Saturday, Leeds came into the match with confidence, but Docklands weren’t having any of it and beat the northern side 3-0.

Coach Ercüment Karakoç said afterwards: “A very satisfying weekend, we couldn’t have hoped for better. We’ve got two vital wins and we can still improve in a number of areas”.

They now have nearly three weeks until their next Super8s match when they take on London rivals Malory Eagles on Saturday, October 24.
