A Lewisham teenager will play ball boy to tennis stars Andy Murray and Rodger Federer at The O2.

Zachary Robinson shone in ball skills, athleticism and team work trials for Barclays Ball Kids in preparation for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals from November 15.

The 13-year-old fought off competition from a 200-strong group of 12 to 16-year-olds from across the country to take his place in a squad of 30.

They will now undergo intensive five-day training ahead of the event.

Head of Global Sponsorships for Barclays Nathan Homer said: “As well as the obvious excitement of being on court with their heroes, the Ball Kids are a flagship programme for our LifeSkills scheme that aims to give young people training and employability skills.

“Being on the court at The O2, with the world’s best players, watched by millions, certainly teaches you a few things about working as a team under pressure and we have high hopes for all the youngsters who will learn new skills and have an experience of a lifetime”.
