Former Coventry City player Kyle Spence is on trial with Millwall, playing for their U21s side in their 3-1 victory over Leeds United.
A former Scotland Under-16 international, Spence left Crystal Palace last summer to join the Sky Blues as a second-year scholar despite reported interest from Aston Villa and Celtic.
He made his City debut in the 1-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory at Wycombe Wanderers and was offered a contract for the new season.
However he didn’t sign the deal and is now a free agent.
Should Millwall sign the 18-year-old, though, Coventry would be due compensation.
Sky Blues manager Tony Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph: “The boy is more than within his rights not to sign the contract or whatever he’s doing.
“If he’s looking elsewhere we have the compensation rights so, if he signs somewhere else then so be it.
“I am not sitting here overly concerned about it.”
