Struggling Charlton Athletic are set to offer Eva Carneiro a route back into football.

The former Chelsea club doctor is in the middle of a legal dispute with the west London club after leaving in September.

But the London Evening Standard says the Championship club are looking for Carneiro to work alongside physio Erol Umut and club doctor John Fraser.

Carneiro has lodged a claim for constructive dismissal against Chelsea after a high-profile bust-up with Jose Mourinho on the opening day of the season.

Mourinho went public with his anger at Carneiro and physio Jon Fearn after they came on the pitch late in a match against Swansea to treat Eden Hazard while Chelsea were chasing a goal.

He accused the two of being naive and were subsequently told they were not required to sit on the bench.

Carneiro has not been back to the club’s training ground since, and officially quit the club in September. It is believed she is taking it to an employment tribunal.
