Speedy short course cycle event The Red Hook Criterium will make its UK debut in Greenwich.
Road racers, track specialists, bike messengers and urban cyclists will take to the Greenwich Peninsula on fixed gear track bikes on Saturday, July 11.
The technical circuit means riders need to be at peak fitness and extremely skilled at handling their vehicle - which has no brakes or gear levels.
Male competitors will take on 24 laps with a total distance of 30km while the women’s challenge is slightly shorter, measuring 18 laps and 22.5km.
Times and scores will be electronically measured and the top 10 finishers will progress into the main event.
Spectators can watch the high-intensity action for free.
Qualifying heats start at 1.30pm with the final male bikers crossing the line at 10pm.
