Charlton ’s dismal run of form continued with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Burnley.

The Addicks may well rue missed chances after being on top for much of the first half in Lancashire.

But once Scott Arfield’s deflected strike found the back of the net for the home side on the stroke of half time, things went downhill for the south east London side.

Charlton conceded three in the second half with Arfield bagging a brace and further successes for Andre Grey and Sam Vokes.

Gaffer Karel Fraeye was disappointed with the second-half slump which he said came after they conceded the opener at Turf Moor.

Going 1-0 down was a big blow and we never recovered from it, which was a very bad thing,” he told Charlton FC website .

This game was as important as any other. Everybody saw that we did not come for a draw; we did not come and park the bus. We came here to win the game and we deserved to be up in the first half, but instead we concede one minute before half time and we go back to the changing rooms 1-0 down.”
