Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire told the club’s website: “After reluctantly losing one of our young academy talents, the fans expect us to invest back into the team.
“We made bringing Patrick to The Valley one of our priorities as soon as the window opened. I expect him to be the first of many new faces this summer as we look to build for the future.”
Gomez told Liverpool’s website his move was a “dream come true”.
He said: “I’m excited for the new challenge at Liverpool and it’s an opportunity that I’ve only been given thanks to the experience that Charlton have given me.”
