Charlton’s interim boss may have his sights set on defender Roger Johnson to help strengthen a squad which has lost four of the past eight matches.

Karel Fraeye is believed to have targeted the experienced centre-back ahead of the opening of the transfer window in January and off the back of a 0-2 home thumping by Wolves.

Johnson played at the south east London side for 14 of the last matches at the end of the 2014/2015 season and helped the Addicks secure safety in the Championship.

Fraeye may well be hoping he will repeat his success this time around according to reports in South London Today .

The 32-year-old was not offered a contract and instead moved to Indian Super League side FC Pune City.

Meanwhile, Charlton recently recalled Harry Lennon from his loan spell at League One side Gillingham to boost their back line.
