Charlton could have their sights set on signing former Stoke player Jermaine Pennant.
The striker is currently training with the Addicks after leaving Wigan last season and fans could see him at The Valley on a more permanent basis.
Charlton gaffer Guy Luzon has already enticed seven players to south east London this summer.
Talking of 32-year-old Pennant, he told BBC London 94.9: “Because we have had a game every three days we haven’t had enough training to test his quality precisely.
“He has a lot of experience. We will see and take a decision.
“We have time and if we have the chance, financially, to bring quality players to the squad, we will do it.”
Pennant plumped to leave the northern outfit despite being offered a new contract.
During his short spell he scored three goals in 13 outings.
