Charlton have made their fourth signing of the summer, with the arrival of Algeria international midfielder Ahmed Kashi.
The 26-year-old put pen to paper at the Valley on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 21, having trained with the club during their pre-season tour of Belgium.
Kashi began his career with LB Châteauroux in France, with his professional debut coming in Ligue 2 in April 2008, before making the move to Metz in 2013. The midfielder is a defensive player who likes to protect the back four and he’ll be competing for a place with Alou Diarra.
Kashi, born in France, expressed a desire to represent Algeria at international level. He was picked for Algeria’s squad for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign, making his international debut off the bench against Senegal in the group stages.
The Charlton squad is beginning to take shape as Kashi becomes the club’s fourth new arrival of the summer after Patrick Bauer, El-Hadji Ba and Simon Makeniok.
