Shane Ferguson netted a brace for Millwall as the Lions maintained their winning streak.

The south east London side put on a confidence performance as they secured a 4-1 victory against Colchester United.

Lee Gregory opened the scoring for the home side on the 13th minute, with Ferguson following up with his first.

The away side sneaked closer to bringing things level with a strike from substitute Chris Porter.

But fans at The Den again had reason to celebrate when Ferguson claimed his second and Byron Webster sealed the deal with the fifth goal of the match.

Millwall manager Neil Harris told BBC Radio London : “We’re very professional. We were very threatening at times. We defended really well other than the goal. And we scored four great goals.

“Sometimes, when a team comes and doesn’t defend very well against you, you’ve still got to have the ability and the confidence to stick the ball in the back of the net.”

The Lions now sit eighth in League One.
