Husband and wife team, Rod and Alison Wales, trained as cabinet makers and are responsible for most of the seating.

Influenced by archietecture, the benches were planned to subtly reflect and complement their surroundings, as well as giving the space a unique identity.

In a career that has spanned almost 30 years, the duo have become best known for their street furniture.

The couple's furniture can be seen in public places worldwide.

There is also a permanent display of their work at the Victoria and Albert museum.
