Work to remove an unexploded bomb in Bermondsey is going to plan.
According to Southwark Council, Army experts are on course to make the device safe today and remove it.
However, no time has been given on when the 200m exclusion zone will be lifted.
A statement from the council said: "We have already made plans for both the police and ambulance services to be available until residents, and especially our most vulnerable, are all back in their homes later on this evening.
"The rest centres will remain open until all residents have left this evening, and transport will be available from both Seven Islands Leisure Centre and Canada Water Library to take residents back to their homes."
The council has asked residents to check its website for updates on when they will be allowed back to their homes.
