Wharfer Emily Moxsom was so determined to buy a home at Bellevue Bow she braved a 5.30am alarm call – and a four-hour wait in the rain.
The 26-year-old was one of around 100 eagerly lined up at the launch of the Zone Two properties by Swan New Homes.
The flurry of interest in E3 reflects a surge in prices, with fees in the area up 17% on last year.
And after renting in the area Emily’s mission was to get onto the property ladder.
She clued up three weeks before the launch, then plumped for a two-bedroom apartment in Bow Tower.
Talking of her new pad, she said: “It couldn’t have been more perfectly situated and it immediately caught my attention over all the other developments that I’d seen.
“The feeling I’d been getting from the market over the last few months was that there is such a huge demand for properties, there was no time to delay if you found the right one.
“The reason I chose a two-bed is for the flexibility it provides – I plan on staying in this home for a long time, so I feel like I will outgrow a one-bed.
“Plus I now have the extra space option for when friends and family come to stay.”
Bellevue’s Premium Collection of apartments – on the top four floors – offer views across the capital.
Inside, they offer airy living space with top of the range finishes and features, while secure parking, a concierge and high-speed broadband are available across the development.
Venture further afield and buyers can explore the heart of the East End, with fashionable Brick Lane and Hoxton all close by.
Emily added the short commute to Canary Wharf was another bonus.
“It’s just five stops on the DLR and that particular line is always reliable,” she said.
“It’s also very easy for me to travel back home to my parents’ home in Essex at the weekend.”
Prices start from £450,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
