F itness-loving tenants might have spare cash to splash on workout gear if they call Columbia West home.

Estate agency Johns And Co is marketing apartments to rent at New Providence Wharf’s Providence Tower with a novel approach. Ballymore Group’s development includes access to a 15,000sq ft athletic and hydrocentre for residents.

And managing director of Johns And Co John Morley said those moving into Columbia West Apartments in Providence Tower might benefit financially as well as physically from the facilities, which include a boxing ring, spinning bikes, cardio machines and a world-championship length lap pool.

He said: “When you consider the average rental price for a one-bed, say with a Virgin Active membership, it can be around £3,000 a year.

“Rental prices for a studio or small one-bed at Columbia West start at £350 a week and it’s a compelling argument. People might say I can get cheaper elsewhere without the facilities.

“But if you are interested in fitness and leisure and are now paying for a private membership, if you factor that back in, it can make a good case to move into Columbia West.

“The array of facilities will appeal to first-time buyers and owner occupiers too.”

John said the apartments had high specifications and were “over and above” what tenants might expect with features including built-in coffee machines and comfort cooling.

He said the latter was a rarity in east London and particularly useful over the hot summer months.

Tenants also benefit from a 24-hour concierge service, security and a Johns And Co property manager is based in the building who will be on-hand as renters move in.

Johns And Co is set to unveil the first apartments to be completed at Columbia West at an event on Wednesday, November 11.

John said: “We have a small selection of studio, one and two-beds available in Columbia West but from the New Year, we will have a lot more as more of the tower is completed.

“We will have a large amount of fantastically beautiful apartments over the next couple of months so we can earmark property for people – we like to talk to people a couple of months ahead of when they want to move.

“We are not a hard sell company - we want to build relationships, give people advice as to what opportunities there are and hopefully implement it at a later stage.”

Studio and two-bedroom homes are available to rent at Columbia West from £350p/w excluding fees.
