We asked The Wharf's property account executive Nikki Hamersley to tell us everything we needed to know about this year’s spectacular event.


The Wharf Property Awards celebrates the work of estate agents, developers, housing associations and those in associated trades working in Canary Wharf area and its surrounding boroughs.

Now in its fourth year and continuing to grow, it’s consolidated its position as the must-attend annual event for professionals in the sector to network, toast successes and let their hair down in recognition of jobs well done over the preceding 12 months.

What’s new?

The 2016 awards will be bigger and better than ever with new categories to extend their reach to even more of the property sector, a bigger venue so more people can celebrate this vibrant industry and its achievements with us, and a fresh, exciting theme.

We’re excited to announce this year’s event will take place in Building Six at The O2 .

This chic, exclusive space will be transformed into Las Vegas for the awards evening with enough glitz and glam to ensure everyone attending mixes business with pleasure.

Couple that with an expansion of the awards’ scope to include those working in complementary sectors and it all adds up to an unmissable event.

How can I get involved?

There are three main ways to get involved with the awards. The first is to enter in one or more of the categories – if you’re proud of your achievements we want to know about them.

We’ve expanded the number of categories and tweaked some others to make certain this year’s awards are as inclusive as possible.

The second is to get involved as a sponsor. We have a range of standard packages available while also being open to the creative ideas of businesses who want to work with us.

The third is to attend the awards evening. The event provides a vital networking opportunity for any business involved in or working alongside the property sector in east London and we welcome support from businesses

How do I enter?

Entries are open now with a closing date of March 31. You can submit your entry online here . There is no cost associated with entering the awards.

Who will judge my entry?

The Wharf has engaged a panel of expert judges to assess all entries comprising chairman of East London Chamber of Commerce (incorporating Docklands Business Club) Janette Withey, Trinity Mirror Solutions sales director Andy Atkinson, Trinity Mirror Solutions learning development manager Mark Rolfe and Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf general manager Gavin Sanders.

When will the awards be presented?

The awards will be announced at a glamorous Vegas-themed ceremony on Thursday, May 19, at The O2’s Building Six facility.

The evening will start at 5.30pm with entertainment to run late into the night.

How much does it cost to attend?

Individual tickets cost £90, dropping to £85pp for bookings of four or more.

This year’s larger, more flexible venue means we’re able to offer businesses tables of eight, 10 or 12.

What can I expect on the night?

We challenged ourselves to come up with a theme that offered even more than 2015’s Cabaret and with Viva Las Agents, we’ve got it.

The three-course meal and drinks reception, both given a Vegas spritz for the occasion will be catered by long-term partner Gaucho, which operates superb branches in Canary Wharf and The O2.

Without giving too much away, those attending can expect top quality entertainment, a casino run by Aspers, magic, high kicks and superior sounds.

Rumour has it The King himself may be entering Building Six.

Expect some old favourites to return too including partyoke, our photo booth and so much more...
