Flats in South Quay’s Maine Tower sold out within five hours after interested buyers queued overnight to secure one of the homes.
The 230 apartments were sold off-plan to around 50% domestic buyers, with the remaining homes bought by overseas buyers mainly from Greece, Italy, France and China.
The block, which will be complete by 2019, is being developed by Galliard Homes, Frogmore and Cain Hoy.
The asking price of the apartments started at £350,000, going up to £1.25million and price per square foot of the flats came in at £1,200, which is a record in the Docklands.
Galliard chairman and chief executive Stephen Conway said previously: “We have designed a scheme that offers buyers both a lifestyle offering and a superb investment.
“We believe that with the regeneration of this industrial site adjoining Millharbour Dock and the forthcoming Crossrail link that will be a game changer in connecting Docklands with west London, homes in the locality will benefit from capital value uplift and sustained sales demand from rental investors and end users.”
