A pedestrian has been caught on a headcam pushing a female cyclist into oncoming traffic in east London.

The man swore at the woman in her 40s and started chasing her after taking serious objection to her request for him not to cross the road until she had passed.

Footage shows him catch up with her at a junction where he can be heard saying “you wanna put your finger up at me?” and “come on” before he pushes her off the bike and she yelps.

Tower Hamlets police are now looking to speak with the man after releasing CCTV footage from the woman’s helmet camera showing the assault.

The incident happened on Friday, May 1, just before 6pm on Sidney Street, off Whitechapel Road.
