Soak up a tropical atmosphere without leaving London this summer when BeachEast returns to Stratford.

Organisers are bringing in 1,000 tonnes of golden sand to transform the waterfront in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park into the UK’s largest urban beach from July 23-September 4.

Families will be able to enjoy a Rio-inspired staycation at east London’s answer to the famous Copacabana beach which will spread over 2,200sq m beside the Olympic Stadium.

There will be a huge kids’ paddling pool, funfair rides, two beach bars and a host of activities including beach volleyball and Brazilian themed evening entertainment, with more details to be revealed throughout the summer.

From Saturday, August 6-21, visitors can drop into the Official Team GB FanZone to watch live coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on the big screen and participate in sports alongside well-known athletes.
