Two men have been treated for smoke inhalation after escaping a fire at a converted warehouse in Tower Hamlets.
The men managed to escape the maisonette in Morris Road before firefighters arrived, but half the property – on the third and fourth floors – has sustained damage.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to the blaze near Langdon Park DLR at 10.48am on Wednesday, September 30, and had it all under control by 11.52am.
Station manager Steve West, who was at the scene, said: “Two men left the building before we arrived. They were both suffering from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. Firefighters quickly got the fire under control and the cause is now under investigation.”
