Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the neck in Hackney.

The victim, Gokhan Durmus, was stabbed after he was involved in an altercation with two men.

He had parked his black Mazda 2 in Chatham Place, near to Meeting Field Path, at around 9.30pm on February 7, but was attacked when he got out of his car after he was approached by two men.

He was able to drive to Homerton Hospital where he was transferred to an east London hospital. He died of his injuries on February 16.

This morning (February 25) a 21-year-old man was arrested in Sussex and an 18-year-old man was arrested at an address in Hackney. Both are currently in custody.

A post-mortem examination held on February 19 at Poplar Mortuary gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.
