Frustrated commuters could be calmed by a personalised award winning travel app created at The University of Greenwich.
Five computer science students pooled their brains for Locality - a system which sends alert and information about disruption to someone’s work, home or current location.
It has since scooped £5,000 in the facility’s annual business planning competition.
Updates can include those from emergency and train services as well as traffic and event issues.
Co-founder Stephen Short said: “We’re hoping to launch the app in late July so we’ve now started to get quotes from freelance developers to see about bringing the idea to market.
“We’ve already had a lot of interest – 57 proposals so far – so the next step is creating a shortlist and we’ll go from there.”
