Tower Hamlets detectives are investigating the attempted abduction of a four-year-old girl.

A man approached the child in Victoria Park playground , near Grove Road at 1.20pm on Sunday, April 17.

The man took hold of the girl by her arm and attempted to drag her away before he was stopped by the girl’s relative and made off towards Lauriston Road. The child was unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged 20 to 30, 5ft 6ins tall, slim build and has scruffy brown hair.

He was wearing a blue hooded jacket with two black patches on the back, baggy light blue jeans and black trainers.

The man had a tattoo of a hand print on the right side of his neck and the wording “only god can judge me” in Old English font was tattooed between the thumb and forefinger.
