A 20-year-old man has been arrested at an address in east London on suspicion of fundraising for terrorism.

He was taken away by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command unit contrary to Section 15(3) of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Police raided the East End property on Tuesday, September 29, where they carried out a search.

The man has been released on bail until October.

The arrest has been made under the PACE code , which is a code of practice in connection with detention, treatment and questioning by police officers under the Terrorism Act 2000.

On a separate matter police arrested a Bethnal Green family in August on suspicion of terrorism offences.

During a custody hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice, parents were compared to child abusers for reportedly radicalising one of their daughters against non-Muslims.
