Police have, quite literally, sniffed out a cannabis farm in Bethnal Green.
Officers forced their way into a home in Digby Street after they noticed a strong smell of weed - which was coming from 12 plants inside.
A 56-year-old man, who initially refused to open the door, was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis, as well as abstracting electricity.
Along with the plants, police discovered an assortment of drug-related paraphernalia and saw that the electrical supply had been tampered with - a common sign of cannabis cultivation.
Dedicated ward officer for Tower Hamlets, PC Robert Ferguson, said: “This arrest should send a clear signal to anyone thinking of cultivating cannabis plants to think again.
“Drug production and dealing will not be tolerated in Tower Hamlets.”
