Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision between a coach and a pedestrian in Bethnal Green.

Just before midnight on Thursday, March 24, police were called to reports of the collision in Mile End Road, near the junction with Stayners Road, E1.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and the pedestrian, a 39-year-old man, was taken to an east London hospital in a critical condition. He died at hospital on Sunday, 27 March. Next of kin are aware.

The coach stopped at the scene. The driver was not arrested.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries and they’re are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, that hasn’t already spoken to police, but may have seen or heard anything to contact them.
