A man has been left in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Woolwich Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision on Wednesday, February 18, at approximately 8pm.

The incident, which involved a black Audi A3, happened on the west-bound carriageway, opposite the Greenwich University Technical College.

The 36-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital, where he is in a critical, but stable, condition, according to police.

Det Con Alex Wheater, from the Met's serious collision investigation unit based at Catford, said: "I'd appeal for anyone with information on this incident to get in touch with us.

"The victim has been left with serious injuries. I would urge anybody who witnessed the collision to contact us so that we can build a better picture of what happened that evening."

The driver stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made at this stage.
