A 20-year-old needed dental treatment after a man repeatedly kicked him while trying steal his camera.

The architecture student was taking pictures in East India Dock Road in Poplar when he was attacked.

He was walking along the road at around 1.45pm on Wednesday, December 23 when he heard someone shouting at him to look out for a moped.

“Suspect 1” is described as wearing dark motorcycle equipment and a black crash helmet

Moments later, the passenger of a moped leapt off the vehicle and jumped over the nearby railings to grab the victim’s camera.

When the student refused to let go the attacker kicked him several times before giving up and running to get back on the moped.

The victim was taken to an east London hospital and received dental treatment. He was later discharged.

Tower Hamlets detectives who are investigating the attempted robbery have issued CCTV footage in the hope of identifying two people they are keen to speak with.

“Suspect 1” is described as wearing dark motorcycle equipment and a black crash helmet and “suspect 2” - the rider of the white moped - is described as wearing a red jacket, dark trousers and a black motorcycle helmet.
