Witnesses have described how a man seemed to survive after being hit by a train at Mile End station.

Bystanders said there was “blood everywhere” following the incident at around 12.45pm on Friday, October 16.

The young man’s current condition is not known, but he was reportedly severely injured and taken straight to hospital.

Fire crews, police and London Ambulance Service rushed to the station on Mile End Road, which was temporarily closed.

The Central, District and Circle lines were all affected, but all London Underground services have returned to normal.

People took to Twitter to express their shock.
