A man has been jailed for 10 years for stabbing another man after a Bethnal Green wake.

Khalid Ahmed, 21, of Hackney was found guilty of grievous bodily harm at Snaresbrook Crown Court last month and was sentenced on Friday (June 17).

In the early hours of December 8, 2015, Ahmed became involved in an argument with a 25-year-old man at a wake in Bonner Road, E2.

The victim decided to leave but was followed outside by Ahmed who, having taken a knife from the kitchen drawer, stabbed him a number of times.

Officers attended and arrested Ahmed near to the scene of the stabbing.

The victim was taken to hospital. He was treated for stab injuries before being discharged from hospital later that day.
