A man has died after he was hit by a Docklands Light Railway train earlier today.

The man was pronounced dead at about 9.50am, after he was hit by a train at Elverson Road station.

Trains between Crossharbour and Lewisham were suspended, but they are now running, although with minor delays.

Trains running through Canary Wharf are experiencing minor delays according to Transport for London.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

He said: “We were called to Elverson Road Docklands Light Railway station at 9.50am on Monday, February 22 following a report of a person being struck by a train.

“Officers are now working to identify him and inform his family.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
