A man accused of attempting to murder a police officer following a shooting in Hackney has appeared in court.

Tyrone Benjamin Henry, 31, of Phoenix Close, was charged on Friday, October 16 with the attempted murder of a police officer, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

The detective was injured during an authorised firearms operation in Scriven Street involving officers from the Met’s Specialist Firearms Command – SCO19 – and Trident Area Crime Command.

Hu suffered a wound to the shoulder and is now in a stable condition in hospital.

The BBC reported Mr Henry appeared at Thames Crown Court in Bow on Saturday, October 17.

District Judge Mary Connolly said he would next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on October 29.
