A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found on a river foreshore in east London on November 25.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Saturday, November 28, and taken to an east London police station for questioning.

Metropolitan Police were called to near the East India Dock Road flyover at 7.25am on Wednesday, November 25, after reports of the discovery of a body.

The body of a 21-year-old man was found by officers and a post-mortem examination was unable to establish a cause of death, but found evidence of head injuries.

Detectives investigating the death believe they know the man’s identity and they are tracing his next of kin. A murder investigation has been launched under the supervision of Det Chief Insp Ken Hughes.
